We had a such great stay for our road trip.
We were in a marvellous and perfect location next to Cooktown from the Atherton Tablelands for many years as lawn bowlers for the annual Cooktown Ladies Bowls Club Orchid Festival, most walkable sightseeing places on waterfront and the onsite restaurant. The breakfast was satisfactory, the check in was simple.

Stylish hotel with very attentive personnel and marvellous view of the ocean. Ideal location right in town close to tourist attractions, excellent services and comfortable bed. And only a 5-minute walk from Eliabeth Guzsely Gallery. Simple check-in, parking on site. Bowling bar and very clean pool.

Friendly staff and facilities of the motel were above average. Rooms were of a high standard but not properly maintained. However, cleaning staff were friendly.
Insufficient car parking and not able to park near the room so all luggage had to be carted a long way. Inaufficient lighting in the room and cleaners not clean the room properly.

The room was clean and had a modern feel. The Highlight is the saltwater swimming pool set among palm trees This is probably the best hotel you will find in cooktown as long as you are willing to eat out. (there was no breakfast or dinner offered during our stay.)
No breakfast offered during our stay.

I liked best about the Hotel was its lay out and accessability of the rooms and from them to the services (restaurant, bar etc)
I thought that the guest car parking was a little crammed up, although I don't think there is much room to add more car spaces.

I found the Sovereign Resort Hotel was in the perfect location .I was in Cooktown researching the area for the sequel to my latest novel, Changing Pillion by pj Barker. Instead of being based in the usa as in Changing Pillion, my characters will next be based in Cooktown and traveling around North Queensland. The Sovereign is a beautiful building that blends into the town and its rich history, and is directly across the road from the waterfront parks and Harbour. PJBarker, auther.
